Seeing Red

I don't always plan my outfits starting from clothing first. Sometimes, it starts from a pair of shoes that I really want to wear, or a belt, ring, bag or a particular colour that I want to experiment with. Ok, I admit. It usually starts with my newest purchase. :D The neon yellow ring and snake skin belt with yellow accents are my most recent purchase and of course, I was dying to wear them. Yellow is not a usual colour that I go for, but I have been gravitating towards that colour a lot recently and I'm starting to play with that colour from small accents first. And what luck too, I picked for myself this red bag from Tocco Tenero recently only to find that yellow and red matches perfectly. Yay!

The boy and I made a pit-stop en route to dinner to shoot these pictures. We abandoned our initial plans to shoot at a particular building when we spotted this red vintage Volkswagen Beetle. Feeling rather lucky once more, I posed around it, keeping my fingers crossed that I won't look like an ah lian sports car model. :p

We Are Golden!

It's been ages since the whole bunch of us met. Birthdays and festivities are always good reasons, so we took the chance and had brunch on Sunday at Graze Rochester to celebrate Joyce's (the only other girl in the pictures) birthday. My eggs ben were delicious and the dessert platter was a super yummy way to end the meal. I was so happy that I got Joyce the Bimba & Lola skull ring that I got myself too. Green for her, and yellow for me. I knew that she'll like it too the moment I saw it...my skull partner in crime. :) Outfit of the day was this nude coloured peter pan collar dress (available on PF this Sunday), snake print wedges and my trusty Celine tote. I love that I have such wonderful friends!

Mulberry's Fall 2012 Campaign - The Wild Things Are with Lindsey Wixon

Have you guys seen the latest Mulberry Fall campaign? It looks heavily inspired by the late Maurice Sendak's Where The Wild Things Are, and I absolutely love it! Model Lindsey Wixon is seen posing beside two giant furry 'monsters' and carrying Mulberry's Del Rey, Maisie and the newly embellished Alexa bags in this campaign photographed by Tim Walker. An interesting fact to know, Mulberry is owned by Singaporean billionaire Christina Ong!

Purple Spaces

I've liked furniture and interior design since my days as an art student. I used to go to the furniture stores like 'Space' just to look at their beautiful furnishings and make mental notes to get them when I have a house in the future. Well, that time has finally come for me (kinda). I have a house coming in about 3 years (and besides the monthly mortgage which is a real bummer), I'm really excited for it to come!! You should guess by now that I'm seriously obsessing over interior and am on a sharp lookout for beautiful spaces. I don't see my favourite colour (purple) used in interior on a large scale much, so I was totally blown away by these images I saw online. What beautiful use of purple! Definitely taking notes, I surely hope to use them in my home when it comes! :)

Look Of The Day

I'm not one who wear jeans/pants much because I usually find the weather too hot and humid for it. Felt in the mood for them one cool evening though and dug out my hardly worn Rock & Republics. Paired it with one of my favourite tops of the moment - the Wild Rose from Pink Flare and had a scrumptious Japanese dinner outdoors at Nagae, Waterfront Plaza. :)

Harry Potter

Visitors get to be sorted into houses by the sorting hat.
Hagrid's Hut
Quidditch Uniform

Bertie Bott's Jelly Beans - there are some really nasty tasting ones!
Best apple cider ever!
The boy and I were really excited that the Harry Potter exhibition was coming to town. We had thought about going on the 1st opening day, 2nd June as it was his birthday but finally decided against it as it was a Saturday and we're the sort who are slightly afraid of crowds. We gave ourselves a day off on Thursday and headed to the Arts and Science Museum at MBS for the exhibition. We spent almost 2 wonderful hours marveling at the props, re-dishing story lines and wishing we were part of the Harry Potter World. Sadly, no photography is allowed in the exhibition. (The pictures of the exhibition in this post is mostly taken off the net.) We headed for Beer Fest after the exhibition (thanks for the tickets Louis!) and listened to an awesome ACDC girl cover band. It was also at the fest where I had the yummiest apple cider beer. Gotta start keeping a look out for Somersby's apple ciders in the market! P/S Harry Potter fans will not want to miss this exhibition!

Birthday Boy

This is the third month that I'm blogging for Tocco Tenero. This month, I picked for myself a cream satchel bag with yellow and dark blue woven details on the bag flap. I really like the combination of colours and the details on this bag. Once again, I am very impressed by the attention paid to small details that make Tocco Tenero bags so useable and pretty much, perfect. This small bag came with a removable/adjustable shoulder strap, 4 compartments, one with a zipper and another with a magnetic snap button, an inner zip compartment and an outer compartment with magnetic snap enclosure. That's a lot of compartments for such a little bag! I love that I can fit all my stuff and organize them nicely in their spaces.

I took the bag out to celebrate the boy and Diana's birthday with the boy's gang (whom I've fondly grown to love) on Friday. After taking some outfit shots at Haji Lane, we trooped to Golden Mile Tower for chicken rice steamboat at Thien Kee Restaurant. The chicken rice and hainanese pork chops were really good. Although I can't say the same for the steamboat (the soup base was rather bland and beside the flavorful chicken rice, I couldn't quite taste anything from the steamboat), the chicken rice, pork chops and reasonable pricing definitely warrants a 2nd visit. We ended the night with drinks and cake at Shangri-La. From the pictures, you can tell that if you hand a girl a knife, she'll play killer and want to stab you with it!
